Q&A: Jenna Koesling

We asked Jenna Koesling, MSH, Director of Operations for the Southeast region, about her experience working with ScribeAmerica:

How did you get started with ScribeAmerica?

I started working at ScribeAmerica when I began my master’s program in Jacksonville, Florida, and wanted to get more involved in clinical work.

What is it about ScribeAmerica’s culture that keeps you engaged?

Our team mindset and family-like culture between our departments. It helps remind me day-in and day-out that we are all in this together.

What are your plans for your future once you have graduated from school?

I had originally planned on pursuing medical school; however, after becoming involved within ScribeAmerica as a manager, I have learned that I truly enjoy the administrative side of healthcare. At this time I am looking forward to continuing on with my ScribeAmerica team and developing my management skills.

What advice would you give to future scribes?

To stay organized and focus in all aspects of your scribe role, and to keep your end goal in mind, whatever it may be.

Would you recommend being a scribe to others?

Absolutely! It allows you to gain hands-on experience and really see what your future career could look like in medicine. It also keeps you excited about the journey ahead to become a medical provider.
