The Standard in professional scribe training and management

2016 Year in Review

2016 Year in Review

As another exciting year comes to a close for ScribeAmerica, I wanted to take note of some of the accomplishments that I am proud of in 2016 – which were only achievable through the help of our fantastic team and great partners.

Our motto – “Doctors save lives. Scribes save doctors." – means helping doctors do what they do best: focus on the practice of medicine, with excitement and passion, and this year has demonstrated our commitment to these values like none before:

Our Record of Success in 2016

Over 1,700 Locations, 40,000 Scribes trained to date, 300 Program takeovers in company history, Global presence
  • We now operate in over 1,700 sites across all 50 states
  • Expanded scribe services in 2 new countries: Australia and Canada
  • Taken over 300 programs in ScribeAmerica’s history
  • Trained over 40,000 scribes to date
  • Launched HealthChannels – a collective of three distinct companies that include ScribeAmerica, CareThrough and QueueLogix
  • Introduced our first Innovation Summit – a half-day seminar where our partners were able to collaborate with other leaders in healthcare

We are very appreciative of our 14,000 scribes in 1,700 sites who deliver a dedicated nationwide presence for our partners, and provide us with the foundation to achieve our corporate mission. In recognition of this exceptional commitment, we instituted this year a number of initiatives to support them in and out of work, including our Best Practices Initiative Community Outreach program which strengthens the bonds between scribe team members across all our sites nationwide.

Introduction of the HealthChannels Family of Companies

In 2016, ScribeAmerica introduced HealthChannels, a collective of three specialized companies dedicated to the demands of modern healthcare. HealthChannels functions as a parent company over ScribeAmerica, QueueLogix and CareThrough – three companies enable providers to improve clinical outcomes by providing highly-skilled clerical support for EMR documentation, patient engagement, medical coding and so much more.

QueueLogix is a healthcare software and services company driving the next era of groundbreaking solutions for medical billing, coding and other mission-critical activities that empower hospitals, healthcare systems and practices to maximize revenue cycles. QueueLogix connects backend business processes to frontline patient encounters in real-time, through groundbreaking technology platforms and a workforce of over 14,000 employees across the U.S.

CareThrough is a 360° care management solution for improving quality of care, patient engagement and financial outcomes. Our highly-skilled care navigation coordinators work on behalf of the provider to identify at-risk patients and improve the entire patient experience, leading to better health results and decreased costs.

Supporting Our Veterans

$187,000 Raised through 2016 ScribeAmerica Charity Golf Tournament

I am delighted to continue our support of our military veterans – one of the many community-based initiatives that our ScribeAmerica team invests in with their time and financial support – with the 2nd Annual ScribeAmerica Charity Golf Tournament. This year’s event was hosted at Trump National Doral in Miami, FL. The annual event was established to support veterans by raising funds for four well respected veteran-focused nonprofit organizations, including the Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund, Folds of Honor, K-9s for Warriors and Wounded Warriors of South Florida. This year, we raised over $187,000! Our 2016 tournament proved to be another successful event and one we will keep as a regular affair on ScribeAmerica’s community calendar.

All that remains is to thank all who have made 2016 one of the best years for ScribeAmerica. We look forward to serving our valued clients in 2017 and welcome new partners to experience the difference that the HealthChannels family of companies and its team of 14,000 scribes can make to the practice of patient care.

A very Happy New Year to All!

Kind Regards,
Michael Murphy, M.D.
